In 2001, Funcom launched Anarchy Online, the first major sci-fi MMORPG, pioneering instanced player dungeons, dynamic in-game advertising, and persistent cyberpunk worlds.

Conan Exiles Success and the Dune Era

Surviving multiple industry platform shifts, Funcom achieved record commercial success in 2018 with Conan Exiles, selling millions of copies on PC and consoles. Leveraging this survival expertise, Funcom secured the exclusive gaming rights to Frank Herbert's Dune universe to develop the ambitious open-world survival MMO Dune: Awakening, maintaining Norway's premier place in global game design.
