ESL Pro League (EPL)
The Premier Ongoing League and Gold Standard of Competitive Counter-Strike
Established in 2015 by ESL and ESEA, the ESL Pro League (EPL) is the longest-running professional Counter-Strike league, featuring the world's top 32 teams competing across seasons.
From ESEA Alliance to League Hegemony
Formed in 2015 through a landmark partnership between European organizer ESL and North American competitive platform ESEA, the ESL Pro League introduced regular season structure to Counter-Strike. Moving away from isolated weekend cups, it created prolonged television-grade seasonal narratives showcasing dynasties like Astralis, Team Liquid, and NAVI.
The Louvre Agreement and The Malta Era
In 2020, ESL signed the historic 'Louvre Agreement' with elite partner organizations, pioneering franchise revenue-sharing while preserving open qualification slots for rising underdog rosters. Operating out of expansive studio facilities in Malta, EPL remains the weekly heartbeat of global tactical shooter esports.
