Repatriating Game Engineering to Turkey

Having led Vivid Image in the UK on Amiga classics like First Samurai, Mevlüt Dinç returned to Turkey to build an indigenous game development ecosystem, establishing Sobee in 2004. The studio engineered lightweight proprietary 3D client engines optimized for early Turkish ADSL broadband networks.

Türk Telekom Acquisition and Global Awards

In 2009, telecommunications giant Türk Telekom acquired Sobee. The studio pioneered I Can Football, an unprecedented 11v11 online soccer simulation where every pitch position was piloted by a real online user, winning the United Nations-affiliated World Summit Award for digital entertainment in 2010.
